Keep kids safe with iSafe backpack

With schools starting just within a few weeks, parents will worry about safety of their children while they were sent off to school. No matter how old your kid is, you just can't feel 100% safe while your kid is walking to and from school. There are gadgets out there to help the kids out when they are in danger. One introduced this year is the iSafe backpack that has a built-in alarm on the strap. This patented backpack can activate the alarm if the child is in trouble or need help gaining attention from nearby pedestrians.

The iSafe bags come in a variety of colors and styles from school backpacks to laptop bags. They even have bags specifically designed for girls who love pink colored backpacks. The alarm gets set off by pulling on a pin in the strap and doesn’t stop until the pin is put back. The rest of the backpack is just like any other backpack, which includes compartments for ipod and other audio devices.

With a power of couple 9V batteries, the iSafe Backpack can alarm the backpack for 2 hours, or set to an interval mode to preserve battery life. The company is offering a 30-day money back guarantee in addition to 50% replacement policy whenever your current iSafe Bag becomes old and unsightly. The replacement bag will not feature the alarm system since it must be transferred from the old bag to the new one.

Original folding trampoline in new color by The Original Toy Company

A most popular children's folding trampoline made by The Original Toy Company is now in yellow/blue color. This complements the red/blue design made by Elmer's Products (formally known as Galt Toys). The 2008 model of the Original Folding Trampoline was blue/red color.

The two trampolines made by The Original Toy Company and Galt are virtually the same trampoline used to be distributed by Galt America, now manufactured by two different companies. The 2008 model of the Original Folding Trampoline was in blue/red, which was well liked by the parents of boys; and the Galt Folding Trampoline in red/blue were well accepted by the parents of girls. We are not sure whether the newly introducing (estimated delivery of June 2009) yellow/blue color of the Original Folding Trampoline will be targetting boys or girls, but it seems to be more of a girl's trampoline than boys as it's in yellow color, IMO.

Regardless of the colors, the two trampolines are now competing each other and we'll have to see which one will dominate the market... or, split the marketshare evenly. With more vendors such as Alex Toys Little Jumpers Trampoline competing in the same market segment, parents and grand parents have more products to choose from.

The Original Folding Trampoline and Galt Trampolines are both safety approved by the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) U.S.A. These two trampolines have tough, weatherproof mat and the tubular steel is coated with a durable finish. For added protection, there is a padded cover that surrounds the mat which cushions the frame and it also prevents children from stepping through the bungee cord. Another great feature is the easy grip handle that aids in balancing the child. The two trampolines are designed for kids 3 years of age and older. For younger children, Alex Toys Jumpin' Jr. - First Trampoline should be considered. Alex Toys Jumpin Jr First Trampoline is the only trampoline in the market that is designed for kids younger than 3 years of age.

Kids Folding Trampoline – Galt or The Original Toy Company?

Often time, customers are confused about the two kids trampolines we offer at Kiddie Toys. Are the Galt trampoline and The Original Toy Company trampoline the same item or are they 2 separate items? They look virtually identical and have the same product descriptions, but are listed on our site as two separate items. Even worse, the Galt Trampoline is listed on Amazon as 4 separate items.

The answer to above question is partly "Yes" and partly "No". Galt Trampoline and The Original Toy Company trampolines are manufacturered from a same design, so they are virtually the same product at the present time but manufactured by two different companies. The Original Toy Company used to be a distributor of Galt Toys, (a United Kingdom company), and operated under the name of Galt America. In 2008, Galt Toys was acquired by an American Company, Elmer's Product, and hence they do not need a distributor in North America; and hence separation of The Original Toy Company and Galt Toys. Susan and Kevin, the owners of Galt Distributor ("Galt America") found a new company called The Original Toy Company, and manufactured the trampoline under its own name. Due to copyright issues, The Original Toy Company have to make a few design changes and manufacture a different trampoline than the Galt Trampoline.

The real difference between the two trampolines is the color of the frame (handle bar and legs). The Original Toy Company trampoline has the blue frame, while Galt Trampoline has the red frame.

Pretend Play helps Child Development

Many studies show connections between cognitive development and high-quality pretend play.  Although, for many years, play has been an intrigal part of child development; latest research on the role of such play in children's cognitive, social, and academic development has been increasingly visible. There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that high-quality pretend play is an important provider of perspective taking and later abstract thought, that it may facilitate higher-level cognition, and that there are clear links between pretend play and social and linguistic competence.

Pretend play is not only an important part of a child's development, but also a very enjoyable one.  Many types and shapes of toys are developed for pretend play, such as; Large Kitchen Set and Pink Retro Kitchen Set.
